Children, Young People & Families Support
Supporting the development of a vibrant and sustainable voluntary and community sector for children, young people and their families on the Isle of Wight.
The Children, Young People and Families Network is an inclusive and diverse group of voluntary and community organisations. It is a strategic, influential body that informs and influences the development and delivery of services.
As a network we aim to enable and enhance the quality of services for children and young people in the sector.
Wightmark Award
The Isle of Wight Rural Community Council in conjunction with the Voluntary and Community Sector on the Island have developed a Quality Assurance Framework for organisations working with Children, Young People and Families.
Currently thirteen organisations, Home Start - IW, Families First- IW, YMCA, Natural Solutions, Wight Diamond Marching Band, Girl Guides Carisbrooke South Division, Isle of Wight Industrial Training Group Services, The Pavilion East CowesSeeds4Change, RedTie, UKSA, IWYAC and IW Street Pastors have been awarded the Wightmark Award.
The Framework for the Wightmark Award outlines 13 criteria under three headers, Safety, Resources and Customers. The standards are intended to be challenging but achievable by all small organisations. Customers though who look for the Wightmark can be confident that the organisation who have it have given serious concern to the appropriate management of staff, volunteers and finances and shown due regard to the sustainable use of resources.
Organisations securing the Wightmark Award can benefit from having the Award logo attached to their details on the FIZ website and the marketing and profiling opportunities that it provides. If you would like to take part in the next stage of the Wightmark Award then please contact Sara Ellis on 01983 524058
