The Island Infrastructure Group
The Island Infrastructure Group is a network of local organisations that are working to improve the level and quality of support available to the huge number of voluntary and community organisations on the Island.
The areas of potential support are varied but include;
- funding
- policy information
- information and communication technology
- human resource and legal
- general capacity building
- business development and social enterprise support
- volunteering
The RCC is the main infrastructure or support body on the Island and its work forms the bulk of the IIG's activities but all members play a role in their specialist areas and the group as a whole is the local steering group for the national Capacitybuilders Programme, which provides some local funding to help build the levels of support available and indeed has supported the re-development of the RCC website.
